I grew up on a small farm in Biddenden and family life was shared with three dogs, cats, pigs, goats, horses and a small flock of Jacob sheep.  I studied Land Management at University and worked as a Chartered Surveyor in London for 10 years. By the time I moved back to the Weald my family included my husband, two small children and two kittens and has since been added to with three dogs, three ducks, two rabbits and pigs!

Tilly our labrador joined us as a puppy five years ago but shortly after a change of circumstances forced my return to work.  My use of a dog walking service at this point has given me a taste of what is required from a client's perspective.  Reliability and consistency were as important as a straight forward accurate invoicing system.

I loved running with Tilly so entered some UK based canicross races in which she wore a harness attached to a bungee line that was connected to my waistbelt.  More recently we adopted Gilby our Australian Kelpie from a rescue centre.  He had been abused and neglected but overcame his anxieties to win a silver medal at the European Canicross Championships.  I am now ranked in the top 20 in Europe and have taken part in canicross demonstrations at Crufts.  Another rescue puppy, Zula; has now joined us!

A managed exercise programme has been absolutely critical to the rehabilitation of our rescue dogs.  Like many high energy breeds and anxious dogs if their needs for physical and mental stimulation are not met they channel their efforts into undesirable behaviour!  Having witnessed the hugely positive impact that regular exercise has had on my own dogs in terms of behaviours, muscle tone, suppleness, digestion and overall "bounce" I am keen to help other dogs experience these benefits.

Following requests from clients we now offer both group and private Canicross training sessions, allowing owners to get fit with their dogs in a sociable, friendly and supportive environment.  This has added a hugely enjoyable and rewarding aspect to Joggy Doggy.
